GUIDELINES FOR RECYCLING

PLEASE NOTE:
Our transfer station at 122 Valley View Road is NOT a recycling center. 
However, recycling is offered to our curbside residential customers and permit holders bringing their household trash into the transfer station.

AT YOUR RESIDENCE OR BUSINESS

  • Follow guidelines above to sort your recycling.  
     

  • If you don't have a recycling bin, place recyclable in a clear bag or loose in a separate container next to your trash or dumpster. 
     

  • If you don't have a separate bin, place paper in see thru bag, paper bag or container and set next to your trash or dumpster.

  • Cardboard must be flattened and bundled separately

  • Please call us if you have any questions about recycling

IF YOU HAVE A PERMIT

TO DROP OFF AT OUR TRANSFER STATION

  • Use guidelines at bottom of page to sort your recycling. 
     

  • Bring cans, plastics and glass in something that will enable you to dump into our recycling container loose.  Do not dump or leave bags in the recycling container.  Bags used to transport recycling in must be disposed of with kitchen trash.
     

  • Cardboard must be bundled or separated.  All paper products described above may be dumped loose into our fiber recycling container.
     

  • Bring recycling in ONLY on the same visit when you bring your kitchen trash.  We do not accept recycling only on a visit, even from our permitted customers.

Do my containers need to be cleaned to recycle?

No. Simply rinse your containers and make sure there is no heavy residue or leftover food still in them.

Can I throw whole boxes in to be recycled?

No, please breakdown boxes, including pizza boxes. Also, make sure there is no leftover food or other materials left in the boxes.

Is everything recyclable?

Unfortunately, no. Please check our lists above and if you don't find what you'd like to recycle listed, please contact us and we can tell you if it is or not.

Should I bag all of my cans/bottles together?

No. Please make sure everything is loose in the bin so it can easily be sorted at our facility.

Can I throw plastic bags in with recycling?

No, please dispose of plastic bags at your local grocery store or look for other means of disposing plastic bags.
